9 Things Your Parents Taught You About Combo Irobot
- 2024.08.09
iRobot Combo Review
Combo is the first mop by iRobot and vacuum robot. It's also one of the most stylish. The top of the machine is brushed aluminum, and the iRobot Logo are more classy than the loud designs from rivals.
The iRobot Home application is used to guide and configure your robot. The app gathers data on usage and maps of your house including furniture and obstructions. Maps and image data is only shared with irobot roomba vacuum cleaner when you sign up.
It's a mop
The Combo irobot is a very intelligent mopping robot that has all the features of the great Roomba J7+ and includes an onboard water reservoir, a tiny mopping pad, and a nifty robot arm that lifts and lowers the pad. It can do a great amount of work in just 111 minutes before it runs out of power and returns to its base station to recharge.
The combo model is equipped with the iRobot Home app so that you can initiate or stop cleaning runs. It's also a stylish robot, sporting matte black plastic that does not show fingerprints or dust and the top piece of aluminum is brushed with the small iRobot logo.
It does a great job of vacuuming and has no issue traversing over large area rugs or transition strips between flooring surfaces. It can even pick-up fine dust that other robotic vacuums miss. It's not great in mowing. It can't obliterate dried milk stains, like unless you send it out several times.
IRobot's specialized Braava jet M6 mopping robot cleaner, which is often available in a bundle along with the j7 plus for less than the price of the combo Combo does a much better job at this and other difficult jobs. It is also able to clean up ketchup and wine spills, but I wouldn't recommend it following any liquids that contain a large amount of sugar.
It's an air vacuum
It's among the more attractive robot vacuums. The top piece is smooth and doesn't show dust or fingerprints as easily as other models. The small water tank and dustbin of this robot vacuum are simple to open, but they're not the biggest. The Combo j7+ has all the features you'd expect from iRobot. It has maps and obstacle avoidance maps that function effectively and swiftly. The mopping arm is the thing that makes this model stand out from the rest of its competitors. It keeps the mop pad tucked in the top of the vacuum, but when it spots a surface that needs mopping, it lowers the pad underneath and behind the robot. This is a major improvement over other robot vacuums which require you to take out the mop pads to clean carpets or hard floors manually. You can also switch off the entire unit for mopping.
It's a charging station
Place your Combo Irobot on the changing station, and then align the metal contacts on the base. The charging station works well and is easy to put in. During my tests, it took the robot only a few seconds to charge and then make an audible sound when it was completed. When the Combo irobot is charged, you can start an exploration run within the app to help it better understand your home. The app allows you to mark certain objects as permanent avoidances, such as lamp cords. You can also connect Alexa or Google Assistant to your robot so that you can use voice commands for it to navigate around your home.
It's a smart device
Combo irobots use acoustic and onboard sensors to discover the type of floor they're navigating, as well as the furniture in your home. It also blends this information with maps of your surroundings and data from the robot's onboard camera to develop a custom cleaning plan for each room. It's intelligent enough to avoid your lamp cords, couches as well as other objects you wish to keep. As with any connected device there are concerns over the security of these data. iRobot however, claims that it will never sell any customer data and no images are captured without the consent of the customers.
